After Babet

Everywhere today looks water logged, the temperature has dropped and the skies are moody and properly autumnal. It was lovely, however, to be able to get out for a decent long walk, even with intermittent showers.

The farmers' market went ahead and the stalls selling fresh game (venison, quail, pheasant and boar) were noticeable. There were also a few French stalls, notably a woman selling fabulous homemade Halloween macarons.

Hope all in the north of England and Scotland are safe and dry tonight.

Day 15 of the Israel/Gaza war. Today 20 humanitarian aid trucks were permitted to cross into Gaza from Egypt.
