Old tank

I decided to clean the airing cupboard in our rented house, and in removing the insulating jacket from around the hot water tank, discovered that it is such an ancient system that the metal tank itself is completely uninsulated. The only advantage of this is that it leaks so much heat into our study that we can work without heating unless it is below zero outside. The extra shows the red insulated jacket after I had put it back.
