Mima's World

By SheilaJellison

My friend Edith and I went to the water lantern festival this evening and this shot is when the lanterns were launched, just after sunset. We each decorated the fours sides of the lantern, slipped it over the wooden dowels of the square and the placed a battery powered candle inside. Most lanterns were done in memory or in honor of someone special in our lives, Edith for her husband who died in August and mine for my husband who died almost five years ago.
Extra is a closer view of some of the lanterns including ours.
AND, at the end of the evening, organizers remove all the lanterns from the lake.
