Bradford Alhambra

The Alahambra in Bradford was built in 1914 at a cost of £20000. It has a seating capacity of 1456 in the main house, but the 'Retained Foyer' is currently the only remaining part of the original theatre's entrance. Named after the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, the building is now Grade 11 listed and hosts large-scale touring theatre. At the moment preparations are well under way for the staging of 'The Lion King' for a seven week season commencing 21 March, 2014. In the sunshine earlier today, the building looked spectacular, although it has to be admitted that as the day progressed the weather went disastrously downhill!
