Progress!

On Monday, the old kitchen roof was taken off. Already, the new floor joists and one of the RSJs are in place. Tomorrow, weather permitting, the other two RSJs will go in and then the walls will start going up. It's just a pity that, around lunchtime today when the covers were off, the glorious sunshine suddenly disappeared and there was a half-hour cloudburst. Let's just say that my kitchen ceiling doesn't look pristine any more :-(

In other news, this week's bake, Mary Berry's chocolate chip brownies, has been voted the builders' favourite cake so far.
