From Nellie’s Glen…

….looking up to the Narrow Neck escarpment. We have similar views from our property but this is actually taken from a neighbour’s yard, 2 kms further up the Glen.
Historically there were 2 access routes on horseback up to Katoomba. The Six Foot Track (or Nellies Glen Rd) is still a public walking track and Redledge Pass which traverses the cliff in the background of the blip. I’ve walked part of the lower end of Redledge but never up to Katoomba. It’s rarely used now and even then only by the most intrepid but in the 1890s when the Glen Shale Mine was in operation, it was well known to be the shortest route to the pub.
