October Sun

Sunday afternoon stroll around Folkestone in the October sunshine with a friend. The weather such a contrast after yesterday’s storm.

We walked along the Harbour Arm, through the old train station and around the Harbour before stopping for coffee and ice cream at a kiosk in the old Fish Market.

We strolled back around the Harbour watching the gulls hover over a fishing boat just in with its catch. As the sun sank we stopped for a beer on the beach and sat on deckchairs among palm trees. I wanted to sit in one of the dodgems or bumper cars but sadly they were all taken.

Felt a bit like being on holiday today after swimming in the sun in the outdoor pool this morning. My friend mentioned she’d like to swim in the sea from the Sandy beach beyond the Harbour on the next sunny day. I’ve said I will take her up on that!
