Back blip yesterday - Guanaco

These beautiful creatures were in substantial numbers in the Torres del Paine NP and in the pampas of Argentina today. A lot of land is fenced in both places and guanacos naturally roam. It was distressing to see so many dead ones who didn't make it over stuck on the fences. Some were skeletons.

I love how one of the group is sentinel. Usually high on a hill, they keep their vigil, on the lookout for pumas, until another one relieves their shift.

My extra is of the towers (Torres) of the NP, volcanic structures n the centre of the range. It was a wonderful day, travelling with our driver to see the towers and other features from all sides. We also did a short but arduous walk which took us to an elevated lookout from which we had a wonderful view of the surrounds.
