Perito Moreno Glacier

Another day of adventure and wonderment as we continued our exploration of southern Patagonia, Argentina. We visited the Perito Moreno Glacier's north (main) and south (first extra) faces, the former on a walk and the latter from a boat. I love glaciers and have experienced them close up in New Zealand and Alaska, but the difference with this one is that it is huge. Really huge.

The north face was lit by the sun this morning and I loved the mix of blue and white. The south face was in the shade and both in real life and in the photo it looks very blue.

The second extra is the crested caracara falcon taken a couple of days, ago in Chile. It's essentially a carrion eater but also wanted our picnic food. It's putting on a show, I think hoping we'd reward it.

Tomorrow we fly to Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.
