The Markinch CHP Biomass plant was originally built in 2014 to supply power and steam to the Tullis Russell paper mill, replacing a coal-fired power plant. Since the closure of the paper mill the site has been cleared and is being redevloped as a housing estate. The CHP plant now supplies electricity to the local grid and powers a district heating system. The extra shots are views of the CHP plant and the former Tullis Russell site with housebuilding work well underway.
