Smashed Spuds

On my walk this morning I came across this pile of potatoes at the edge of a field that has been recently harvested (sometime in the last few days). I guess these are the rejects, as there are a lot of broken ones..and there must be a lot of rotten ones too as the smell was pretty disgusting.

In years gone by it has not been unknown for me to collect a few ‘healthy’ discards and use them at home..but this stinking pile did not entice me at all!!

There is still a field waiting to be harvested so I will have to watch out for some ‘free’ spuds!
