Eshaness

Today we explored much of the northern half of Shetland's Mainland. The highlight of the day happened near the Unst ferry terminal at Toft where we got our first really good sighting of an otter. As usual it was our expert guide Gary who spotted it first. We spent quite a while watching it fishing in the sea, and then saw it bring a crab to the shore to eat.

It was too far away for a decent photo, so for my blip I have chosen this shot of the impressive sandstone cliffs at Eshaness on the northwest coast.
