just do it.

8:30pm and driving north.

After walking the dogs (wearing shorts) and then walking in the Kirkliston Gala Day parade dressed like a Skittle, we bundled ourselves into the car and headed south until we reached my Grandad's house in Teeside.

Not the sort of journey you attempt everyday, but then tomorrow he will be 88.

We'd not visited for a long while, so while the visit wasn't very long, we had a great time (thanks for the meal, Uncle Billy) and the chat was good.

The drive home was painless, and I'm very grateful for a car that makes these things possible. Sure I'm all for avoiding the unnecessary burning of fossil fuels, but family are important.

I think it's too easy to lose sight of that.
