Thunder Thighs

Neil Phillips, UK Wildlife, posted a pic of a dragonfly with a cottage out of focus behind it as something different on his blog. He said he had used a 35mm wide angle macro lens, which got me experimenting.

I couldn't find any big bugs so this male, fat thighed flower beetle had to suffice. I used my wide angle 17-55 lens. This is the closest I could get to the beetle. My car and dog are in the background. I hope to be able to post a proper macro pic of one of these beautiful, green, iridescent beetles in due course.
