Mountain Huts …

… all close if they haven’t already, this weekend. Some will open again in the ski touring season, now the first snows begin to freeze the surrounding peaks. I was hoping to spot some ptarmigan again this morning but the wind was wild again and I am sure they were in their rocky shelters. 

On the return I drove to Lac Retaud (extra) to see this area, on the snow line, from a distance. The autumn/winter reflections were very different from the summer ones. I was surprised there was little wind there.
