Bush regeneration

This native lily is growing in a patch of bushland nearby in which John, a local resident, has worked for many years to restore natural vegetation. It's Crinum pendunculatum, commonly called Swamp Lily and Spider Lily. 

Today was drizzly and cool. The rain will be good for gardens, which looked very dry after a lengthy hot spell. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that the coming summer will very likely be hot and dry, under the influence of El Nino conditions.
