The Lozarithm Lens

Back in 1973 when Dark Side Of The Moon was released on vinyl I rather scoffed at those who bought it to show off their sound system rather than to appreciate the music. Looking back I wonder if this might have been in part because my own hi-fi was rather modest, although I always sought the best possible audio.

Over the years my stance may have softened when I bought the album on SACD to get hi-resolution stereo sound, and now the deluxe version that until now was included only in a lavish box set has been released in its own right and I have bought it again. This time it has been remixed for Dolby Atmos, which means it will also play in excellent 5.1 surround sound. I wonder what the younger me would have thought?
