Keetpoortsluis @ Muiden

This lock in the city of Muiden was used as a sash lock between the river Vecht and the Naarder Trekvaart, which was dug in the seventeenth century and belonged to the main routes to and from Amsterdam.

It was also a part of the military defensive inundation system.

The lock derived its name from the Keetpoort, the southern gate of Muiden.
