We returned from five weeks on the coast to discover that our kitchen garden had gone on producing in our absence. Not only was there a plethora of green and hot peppers, and some beautiful yellow courgettes, but this monster put in an unexpected appearance. Sliced and seared on the plancha, half of it provided the vegetable content of our Saturday lunch of grilled sausage (provided by our local butcher).
