Young Male Fallow Deer

Today’s picture is of a young male Fallow Deer, which appeared in the garden this morning. I have not seen this one before although the other male that visited last year, with full grown antlers was also very dark. This one’s antlers are just showing. It is not a good picture; it was running across the garden and almost ran out of the photograph. Males generally do not stay with the females although there were two females in the garden at the same time.
 
The temperature at noon today was thirteen degrees Celsius. Mainly overcast all day, with torrential rain at times.
