At Gravesend's New Tavern Fort, overlooking the River Thames. General Gordon was stationed here for a period and oversaw the building/re-building and arming of the Fort, as well as Tilbury Fort, directly across the river, and 3 more, grouped a few miles down river. They were built to prevent French or Spanish raids. The gun, here, is a replica, cast in Northfleet, the adjoining town to Gravesend, in 1988. The cans of caffeine drinks are contemporary.
Shot using an Olympus OM4 with standard Zuiko 50mm lens (f1.8) on Adox HR50, developed in FX-39.
