Wat Ratchaburana, Ayutthaya

The city of Ayutthaya, capital of Thailand, was immense when it was destroyed by the Burmese in the 17th century. The ruins of the temples are no less impressive for being in ruins. Not much sculpture remains intact - nearly all the Buddha heads have been destroyed - but this Garuda figure on the pagoda of one of the main temples is still whole.
