The Pensioner

Minky Day

Wet, wet, Minky Day. So off we went to meet up with Juliet and her parents at the Ratho climbing centre. Not to do any climbing - they have a rather good soft play area. And a cafe.
Back to play indoors a while though in the afternoon it dried up briefly to enable us to get out and visit the detritus on the beach. Cheap entertainment, that.
Later, very little entertainment at Tynecastle. Livingston FC arrived to thwart us by playing six across the back. The stats recorded us as having ten shots on target; they had none. Luckily one eventually found its way through the sea of legs into their onion bag.
Still talking of entertainment, much hilarity at the WhatsApp messages being released into the public domain as a result of the Covid-19 enquiry. I fear a lot of people in important places think WhatsApp message are just like speaking so therefore you can speak your mind. Tut tut!
In the future even speaking will be recorded of course, so you’ll need to be guarded about that too. And then, before long, your very thoughts will be visible to your employer and recorded.
"It says here on this brain read-out MrP, that you actually think your boss is a semi-useless tosser and the work is a total waste of time” and it further goes on, "but hey, it pays the rent?"
"Is that what it says?”
Gulp!
