At last...

...some autumn colour. It's been unusually slow this year, apart from along a few main roads that have been planted up with species such as Norway Maple, Wild Cherry, Narrow-leaved Ash (the cultivar Raywood turns a glorious crimson-red at this time of year) and Southern Dogwood.

At Swaddywell Pit the colour comes naturally, with the vivid red of Dewberry  leaves in the foreground, and the golds of Silver Birch and willows as a backdrop.
