The day after

Well, we survived Storm Ciaran, one house in the village had been flooded out, the A30 was closed near here and also a stretch of the A303, and many places were cut off because of road water, debris and fallen trees. There was a thunder storm and lightening and I slept through the gales!  No power cuts which was extraordinary as we are usually the first to get hit. The coast was a different story. 70 people were evacuated at the holiday camp at Burton Bradstock as the sea broke the defences and swept and ruined several of the caravans and cabins into the torrent, one of many incidences along the coast.  The island of Jersey suffered a tornado and there is a lot of damage there to people's homes.
