Winter Sunrise

This morning was the first chance I have had to get up onto the Wither Hills Farm Park all week. We have had cloudy, misty morning after morning with no chance at all of good conditions for photography.
So today was the day. I met Ricky, another blipper, and his schoolmate Joe, in the car-park at 7.am. It was pretty well pitch black with just the faint promise of an interesting sky in the east. Sunrise is not until 7.50.am at the moment so we had plenty of time to amble up the track to our first photography stop near the Rotary Club Lookout.
Joe had his brand new camera, a Canon 6D to play with and was very pleased with its performance through the three hours we were on the hills. He was coming up with some very nice landscapes.
Ricky..well he's a worry...was using a borrowed Canon camera body with his own lenses. Just why that should be the case is for Ricky to tell..... But never-the-less he had a great morning capturing some nice images.
I so enjoy going out on photography forays with these two lads. Their knowledge of things technical, post-processing and the like constantly amazes me and without fail, I come away a little more knowledgeable and wiser after time spent with them.
Our next project is to get up on the hills during a heavy frost. That will give an entirely different perspective of the landscape for us to capture. I can hardly wait....
