Porcupine Gorge Challenge

Today was the annual Porcupine Gorge Challenge which is held 60kms north of Hughenden in a national park. The Under 12s run a 1.5 km course which is 1.1 kms uphill in a zigzag path from the bottom of the gorge. The 12-16 years group run an extra kilometre along the bottom of the gorge before heading up top. The Open age groups run an 8km course, over rock and sand, through water and the killer uphill goat track to finish. I was lucky enough to be the photographer who got to fly in the helicopter down into the gorge and following the race path...as well as some joy riding at the discretion of the pilot so I could take pics and video of the landscape and aerial views. What am absolute buzz! Now the chore to finish - download and edit the day's take. Better go and do it!!!
