My topsy-turvy life

Potions and notions

Another busy, busy day. We went to visit the Coalport China Museum to have a look around (much more interesting than I expected) and to have a go at making a clay potion bottle. It was all I could do to stop myself doing it for him but Owen did a great job of making it all by himself, decorating it with an 'O' and a Jack Skellington stopper*. It'll take a few days to air dry at home and then we can have a go at painting it.

Next up we nipped round the corner to Blists Hill* and did their Victorian Vermin trail, trying to find rats with letters in various shops around the site. There were treats from the bakery and of course Owen wanted to go on the outdoor play, climbing the ladders, going down the big slide and both zip lines.

Then it was home as the sun went down for our own miniature bonfire night* complete with mini bonfire, toasted marshmallows, hot dogs, fountain firework and of course sparklers. Given the weather forecast and how wet it's been rethought we might be better off at home this year.
