Sunday

A beautiful morning!!

I wanted to deliver a birthday card to Louisa. She lives on the other side of town so we incorporate the card with our walk which took us to Drew's Pond Wood.

On the edge of the wood is the old Roundway Hospital otherwise known as the Wiltshire Asylum. Now converted to homes.

Just inside the wood is the hospital burial ground. A few head stones but 4100 unmarked graves of deceased patients and staff. There's been talk of houses being built and the burial ground moved. That, I feel would be a great shame. I think some lives spent at the asylum were unhappy ones but their resting place is beautiful.

The woods are lovely and a chalk stream runs through which Hetty thoroughly enjoyed splashing in.

On our return walk, we stopped in town for a tapas lunch.
