Shovelling manure

An excellent afternoon at the allotment. Great community spirit as plotholders shovelled and barrowed away their share of a truck load of very well rotted horse manure.

I wasn’t sure how it would all work out as this was a new source of manure, the first delivery since the Pandemic and since the huge upset of Project A.

All the planning worked out well in the end with each member of the manure club having at least 3 barrows for £5.50 or at least 6 for £11.50. We will be having further deliveries over the winter.

Three volunteers purchased and set out an excellent barbecue after the Poo Crew had done their work. Despite misgivings about whether the bonfire would light given all the rain it did with a little persuasion. In the end we had to put it out so as we could go home.
