Lovely to see the sun!

This was taken from just outside the recycling shop door across the churchyard. It was so good to see sunshine even if it was through  the trees.
Kath and I spent 3 hours this morning wading through about a dozen black sacks of mainly clothes donations. More than half of them were children's clothes and all in really good condition, including some amazing dresses hardly worn but obviously been bought for special occasions. They are definitely not everyday wear! There was also about 3 sacks of school uniform all in super condition. Kath and I are hoping to find a 'localish' school that wears green and white summer dresses as we have at least two dozen needing good homes. We want to donate them to a school swap shop. We're sure there will be plenty of people who find it difficult to constantly clothe their children in new uniform as they grow. There are also plenty of white shirts, polo shirts, grey pinafore dresses, grey skirts and even brand new tights and socks still in their packs. Im sure there will be some school delighted to rehome it all. Hopefully we will find a school as the other option would be to pass it to another charity shop in a larger town, but we would prefer to just give it to anyone that is struggling with the cost of uniform. We will be passing on quite a lot of the other clothes as we have a small clientele being just in a small village, and it will likely just hang in the shop for far too long. With Christmas not far away some little girls will be delighted to find a beautiful frock they can wear, at least their parents will be, as all the dresses are immaculate and must have been really expensive when bought new.
I spent a bit of time in the garden during the afternoon making the most of the sunshine. I didn't really achieve anything but it was lovely to be outside.
I watched some evening TV and continued with my hat. I'm on the home straight knitting the brim. Hopefully I'll be able to blip it in the next few days.
