Vines

We made a quick visit to Chateau Chalon today, despite having said we like to keep away from the touristy places. This beautiful little village is set on the edge of a cliff overlooking two very different valleys. One view from the picturesque village looks along the valley to Baume les Messieurs and the source of the River Seille and the other view looks down on the patchwork of vines which this year seem a little later than usual in their growth. There are many fields of vines and this is just a sample of those we could see from the village. The temperature has only reached 25 deg today but we are not complaining. We are invited to a village dance and BarBQ tonight which will be a new experience for us.
