YORKSHIRE GREATS

All happening in Filey today !
Weatherwise, the blue skies and white clouds gave way to black clouds with rain, and hail covered the ground at one stage.

Sporting wise, today Filey is the centre of Yorkshire. This image shows the new Mayor of Filey, John Shackleton, greeting finishers of the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride - GYBR.

The GYBR is a charity event which raises thousands of pounds each year. These boys belong to the Kirklees Cycling Academy and were very proud of their efforts today. I do not think I would look like that after 70 miles !

Meanwhile on the sea, Filey is hosting a two-day regatta for sailing dinghies from across the UK.

Some extra good news - it is only half-way through the Cricket County Championship but, currently, Yorkshire sit proudly at the top !
