a lifetime burning

Kelston Round Hill

Cathy and I had an early start to get into Bristol for 8:45 this morning.  Fortunately the traffic wasn't up to the city's usual nightmare standards and we arrived sufficiently early for a quick cup of coffee.

Back home by mid morning we decided to walk up to the Round Hill, as the weather promised to be largely dry.  In the event we were quite lucky and missed most of the showers, although we could see them passing to the left and right of us in the distance.  Shortly after we arrived back home it bucketed down for a few minutes.  Timing is everything!

There's a few small details I liked in this shot - the position of the crescent moon between the trees, and the two picnickers sitting on the right hand side.  Sadly there wasn't really any autumnal colour in the trees here, so I've opted for mono.
