Silver birch turns golden

What a beautiful bright day! I had a lovely few hours in the garden, planting bulbs, clearing hundreds of sweet chestnuts off the ground and mowing the lawn. Then lunch in the garden under this silver birch tree and off to a much anticipated Sashiko embroidery class that turned out to be rather underwhelming. I think I’ll give it another go under my own steam.
