A view from St Swithin

St Fergus Church Dyce

I’d a cycle today making use of a clear sunny day. We cycled through Kirkhill Forest and then down to the River Don and the ruined church of St Fergus which is the old Dyce parish church. It’s in a lovely location and dates from the 13th C. Inside the ruins are 2 inscribed Pictish stones.

Beside the church are Commonwealth War Graves. Included in this area are several German graves. Presumably from one of the several bombers shot down over Aberdeen during WW2. They were all such young lads.
