My William Blake bird bath is today's consolation prize - there was glorious light setting the tops of the trees on fire this afternoon but by the time I'd finished all the animal chores, the light had faded, so I mooched around the garden grumpily until I spotted the bird bath full of leaves and reflections of the branches of the Sambuca tree.
