Today we remember Flanders fields
Whose poppies carry the colour of blood
105 years
Only two Australians who fell there made it home
One with a name
One without
We stop and remember and whisper
Lest we forget
In the Australian desert another flower blooms
The colour of blood with a pea of black
It carries the name of a white explorer
Yet also the memories of all the nameless ones
Whose blood has fallen on this soil
In defence of home
And Country
235 years
Lest we forget
