Comment dire...

...to get a key cut? We now have one key each for our house so we can live separately from each other if the need arises. I still don't know the actual terms for how to ask for a key cut though. Bill took us to the supermarket today after heading to the déchetterie to throw away the very large pieces of broken things that won't fit in a bin bag...and wow, what an experience! Massive holes in the ground with skips in them for different materials - recycling but on a big scale. Not having to rush round the supermarket as a customer waits for you was a great experience, we loved being able to mull over whether buying this product or that product would be better for us! My morning had been spent going into every mobile, lighting the boiler and hobs while Bill did gas pressure tests and then relighting the boiler once the gas bottle was reconnected. I know, thrilling stuff! Well, every morning can't be that interesting. The afternoon was a standard check and polish for me for tomorrow, while Jen learnt how to change the insides of a toilet and fix a sofa! I don't know who got the better end of the deal...

Jen and I were both rather upset to receive the questionnaire back from our leavers today, as they had only marked us down as "good", only one above average and two from the top. I wouldn't've minded if we had neglected them or anything, but we had gone out of our way to make sure they were alright...including giving them some films to watch in an evening, bringing round craft stuff for the children (including stickers, which are now stuck to all table legs and cupboards in the mobile...which will be fun to get off!), going down to reception to make sure that the pool would be open for them even if the weather wasn't too glorious, asking the gardener to deal with some plants that were "annoying" them and various other small things in one week. Some people are just never happy. And they have left their mobile in an absolute state, which we are not looking forward to dealing with. However, tonight we had to say goodbye to Evie and her family...who we will genuinely miss. We were getting used to going in of an evening and having some wine with them and checking everything was alright (which is always was!)...hopefully their questionnaire (given tomorrow) will make us feel happier!

Food preperation photograph, my style. If only life could be this simple sometimes!
