Sunbeams

Limes at Hilfield

Spent a study day at Hilfield and enjoyed their homemade rolls and butternut squash soup and a little later on homemade apple cake.
The drive down the steep hill was extremely muddy as ash trees on either side of the lane had been felled because they were diseased. The area looked so  different and a little like a war zone.  The heavy machinery had driven from the mud onto the road and the rain a day ago made it into a quagmire but no-one skidded or got stuck.

Baby sat for the grandchildren in the evening.
