Armistice Day with an MP

Today, being Armistice Day (tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday) I attended a commemoration ceremony with the Royal British Legion, Gloucester City branch. It was held in Eastgate Market, as was the poppy launch a couple of weeks ago.
I know the MP for Gloucester, personally, as we've met on a number of occasions at events, memorials, Armed Forces Day etc. I also converse with him by email when I have a grouch about something e.g. prosecution of veterans of the Northern Ireland war, it was called a conflict but many people died, it was a bloody war and not very pleasant at all. Anyway. He seemed pleased to see me and introduced me to his lovely wife, daughter and her fiancé, and then asked his daughter to take a photograph of the three of us, him and his wife with me in the middle.
Despite many peoples thoughts about politicians, Richard Graham CMG has made huge changes in Gloucester, and all for the good to improve many aspects of life in the city centre particularly, the railway station and coach station. And it's still ongoing, ref my blips about the development progress.
Yes, he is very well off and he gets expenses like the rest of them, but he is also the Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Malaysia, Philippines, and the ASEAN Economic Community, so a very busy man who works incredibly hard for Gloucester, and he is also very likeable..
He has also had an incredibly busy life - Richard Graham (politician) - Wikipedia
He was award the CMG (Companion of the order of St Michael and St George) for services to trade and investment in South East Asia.
Tomorrow I will be in London, setting off around 06:00 on the bike, for the Veterans Parade after the service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.
