Nuts

A beautiful day, too good to stay indoors even though we had work to do, so we took S for a walk in the forest at West Harling. It's a commercial forest but has sections of beech in addition to the usual conifers - & the conifers include small blocks of larch. Both species are changing colour rapidly & were quite dazzling in the sunlight. The colours were beautiful as we walked but the dynamic range in the forest itself made it difficult for photography (certainly for doing justice to what I could see & still allowing me to catch up with P & S!!) & both the main Blip & the extra were taken at the edges of tracks. Most of the beech nuts around here have been shed already, but I managed to find a few seed cases with some nuts still lingering & with a suitable leafy backdrop.
