Lee Bul

Emma and I went to the Sara Hildén Art Museum to see Lee Bul's exhibition. In the picture is an installation called Aubade V. The cast steel has been collected from demolished checkpoint from the border of North and South Korea. By the way, the museum was full of people! It's a miracle I managed to take this shot without other people in the picture.

Lee Bul (b. 1964) is one of South Korea’s most internationally acclaimed artists. Lee combines influences from many sources, ranging from science fiction, art history and architecture to the history of Europe and her native South Korea. She is interested in how South Korea’s rapid transformation from a military dictatorship into democracy in the 1980s gave rise to clashing narratives of progress and success versus experiences of conflict and misfortune. Since the turn of the millennium, Lee has been exploring human relationships with technology and its untold possibilities, while also probing the darker undercurrents associated with the rapid pace of digital progress.

Then we ran some errands and ate salads in the Cafe Roberts. Meanwhile hubby raked leaves in our garden, it is a huge job!

An advert has declared that 11.11. is the grayest day in Finland. It really was the most gloomy day, and I think it rained almost all day. In the evening we had lovely cheese and wine evening, and started the third season of The only murders in house.

+4 °C, cloudy and rainy
