We are Northern Lights

I had heard a great deal over the past few months about this " crowd sourced" documentary produced and directed by Nick Higgins so I was glad to see it in the programme of the Dunoon Film Festival.

It was worth the wait. Open, inclusive, lyrical, visually exciting, well paced and at times both funny and touching it distils the essence of Scotland and filters it through hundreds of experiences to produce a generous but sharp portrait of who we are and what - at our best - the people and the land of Scotland can be.

At the screening I was sitting in front of Norman Bissell from Luing who was one of the many co-creators of the film which has strong Argyll images & content. Norman wants to use the same community model for a film about the Argyll islands which - on the evidence so far - seems a great idea.
