View from My Bench #13

Went back today to test the take out (bread and pastries today) ordering at the new location of the bakery.   Works great.      The portapotty is gone ..but just moved,   as there is still work being done on this building.  Some outdoor tables.   It won't be the same but there are lots of these benches to sit on as well.  A month ago

It’s “Veteran’s Day”.   Didn't do anything related except we did spend  time on our walk reminiscing about H’s time in the Public Health Service in the late 60s.   Everyone we knew was in some service it seems.   He was lucky he wasn’t in Viet Nam, but in Washington DC with a toddler  (whose birthday is today, the year before we went) and a baby, learning a lot about pesticides and then (switching agencies...long story)) mammograms.  Interesting 2 years.   Great respect for all veterans and grateful our grandchildren are not required.    

Football and soccer on Tv today,   The birthday boy’s choice …we already celebrated .    Decided  I needed some comfort food so just made tuna casserole.(no mushroom soup) ... the recipe said then prep time was 15 min.  (took me 50) and there are 3 pans, 3 bowls and a colander messing up the kitchen.  Whew,  not sure I"ll do that again ./..(unless it's delicious ...will blip if so...)   Extra:-)
