Black Swallowtail

I went to Pungo (technically part of Virginia Beach but it is primarily farmland) to get some local strawberries. The link mentions the Witch of Pungo...She is believed to be part of the family tree (I am linked by marriage)....

I took several pictures while out driving around...an Eastern Kingbird, a very pretty golden dragonfly on a wheat stalk, and a killdeer that was trying its darnedest to look injured as I apparently was close to its nest. This butterfly was my favorite.
