If A Tree Falls In The Forest…

… and nobody sees it fall, will anyone notice it.

Only if it blocks the trail. There are hundreds  of them in varying degrees of decomposition in this forest. This tree (and the one in the extra) succumbed to the thunderstorms and high winds this week. I suspect it may have been struck by lightning, since there are few signs of internal decay.
