Barca

A busy day in Barcelona. Up fairly early to be in Mataro in good time for our rowing with the local club. We met Maruchi at the station, and she took us to the boat where two other members of the club were there as helpers. After sorting the seats and a bit of faffing, we were off with Maruchi as a cox. (Extra - photo courtesy of Maruchi). I decided to go for it and row with my left hand, only using the right one to stabilise the oars. The technique was quite different from ours and the sitting position very uncomfortable (you have to rest on your coccyx). I also found that the oars are hard to handle, but that was not helps by using only my left hand. However, we managed to cover about 4km. It was really interesting!
After that we went to a local restaurant with Maruchi... She is quite a character!
Back in Barcelona, three of us went to the Jamboree Jazz Club, for an hour of tame but enjoyable blues and boogie-woogie. This was followed by a cocktail at Boadas, before joining the others for a tapas meal.
