A Conventicle of Magpies

Another glorious autumn day. On the morning spaniel walk I found more Magpie Inkcaps than I've ever seen before in one spot, there were more than fifty within about ten square metres. I tried photographing the whole group but somehow they seemed to disappear into the background so here instead is a close-up of part of the 'conventicle' or 'mischief' (these are just two of several collective nouns for a group of Magpies).
