Elm Row

A small portion of the window display in Harburn Hobbies on Elm Row - the minature train has just emerged from the tunnel on the right and has narrowly escaped being squashed by a giant VW beetle. I was naturally drawn to "The Railways of East Fife" (new!) and bought a copy for DaveH as it includes the section of line that used to run right past his dad's old place on Largo bay.

I was in the vicinity due to having had a check up at the dentists and then doing a bit of shopping in V & C and Tattie Shaws. Tatties last day of opening will be this Saturday - get in there local folks and relieve him of the remaining nuts/seeds/lentils/cans etc etc. I'm sure the less he has to clear out at the end, the better.

Then to Toppings to meet up with Cath who was up from Wales for a meet-up with her cousin who's down from Skye. Managed not to buy any books in spite of the sore temptation. We got a cup of tea together and blethered a bit, although we'll see Cath again tomorrow night. Left her and Frances to make their way to Stockbridge for a nose round the charity shops.
